Exploiting Systems Biology in Nonhuman Primate Models for AIDS

Organizer: NIH, NIAID, Division of AIDS (DAIDS), Vaccine Research Program

The DAIDS Vaccine Research Program is organizing this 4 hour satellite workshop/meeting on Tuesday December 9th, 2008, 8:30am to 12:30pm.  The goal is to inform those using NHP models of AIDS of Systems Biology (SB) approaches being taken, to identify reagents that would be useful to the field, and to compare and evaluate technologies and computational tools in creating meaningful databases that can be mined appropriately. The intention is to encourage more investigators using NHP models to partner with those experienced in SB technologies, including NHP researchers in using genomics/proteomics in monitoring and mapping protective immune responses. These presentations aim to significantly complement the Wednesday 9:00am-12:00pm Scientific Session 1 on Therapeutics/Genomics (co-chaired by Drs. Jeff Lifson and Adrian McDermott).

To register for this satellite meeting, please use the official meeting registration form that can be found on the Registration and Fees page.

• Venue: This satellite workshop/meeting will be held at the Ritz-Carlton, San Juan Hotel, Spa & Casino (6961 Ave. of the Governors, Isla Verde, Carolina P.R. 00979), the same venue for the "26th Annual Symposium for Nonhuman Primate Models for AIDS", to be held December 9-12, 2008.
